Casinos |

Want to gamble all your holiday money away in one evening? Well, there are two casinos in Gran Canaria, one in the islands capital Las Palmas - La Gran Casino Las Palmas, situated in the Hotel Santa Catalina and the other is in San Agustín - the Casino Gran Canaria, situated in the Hotel Tamarindos. Both have all the usual facilities which include a restaurant and are open 7 nights a week, from around 21:00 until 04:00 the following morning. Dress smart! A Jacket and tie are expected of the blokes and you'll need to have your passport with you.
Casino Palace - San Agustin
During the "winter season" (November to April inclusive), the Casino restaurant hosts a spectacular, vegas-style cabaret show. It's very highly recommended and one of the best of its kind I've seen. The set price gets you a 4 dinner of soup, smoked salmon, fillet steak and ice-cream, accompanied by light entertainment and cabaret dancing whilst dining. This is followed by an hour or two of amazing entertainment from flamenco dancing, magic, comedy, ice-skating, Spanish dancing horses and more. Also included in the price is all the champagne you can drink!

Night Clubs |

Out of Puerto Rico, Playa del Inglés is the place to go. Most are found in the many shopping centres they have their and open between 11pm and midnight, staying open until 4 or 5 midweek, nearer 6 at week-ends. Take note that the Yumbo centre is full of lively bars and clubs but they are all gay. If that's not your thing then the best centre to head for is the Kasbah for the atmosphere and choice of clubs there. On a Friday and Saturday morning, there's an after-hours club called La Roca in San Agustin, 10 minutes in a cab from Playa. Ask for "La Roca" and the taxi driver will know where to go. This opens around 4am and closes around 4pm in the afternoon. If you're a serious clubber, you'll like this place, very highly recommended!

Boat Trips |

A few of the many cruise companies in Puerto Rico operate during the evening, sailing out to sea to enjoy the sunset whilst dining. Often, each sets anchor out at sea for a short while to allow for swimming and at an extra charge, various water sports such as jet-skis. One of the sailing ships operates a "booze cruise" through the summer with free beer, buffet, music, dancing and a great party atmosphere. Prices and times vary but are something around 25 euros per person with departures around 6-7pm and cruising time around 3 or 4 hours.

Sioux City |

Sioux City also has an excellent night time show/entertainment with a "free saloon bar" complete with line dancing - follow this link. On a Thursday evening through the summer season (May to October inclusive), they have their infamous "foam parties", literally filling the place up with foam and letting you feel/stumble/crawl your way around the place............. "fun" is an understatement!

Garbo's |
Here's a restaurant in Bahia Feliz where the theme is the roaring 20s. Music, dance and sets in the style of the 20s are the main part of the evening. You arrive and have dinner before the main show starts but are sure to notice the costumes of the waiters and waitresses. Later on when the show starts, you'll then discover it's the waitresses and waiters that are the performers (very professional I must add) of the show.

Fiesta in the Caves |
This one's a trip to Guayadeque to see the village of the caves. Going up to the top of the village, enjoy the sunset and the go to the Tagoror restaurant in Guayadeque, a restaurant made up of several large caves, where they serve a typical Canarian dinner. Entertainment through and after dinner consists of music, games and competitions.
